Agatha Christie’s Syrian Memoir
Agatha Christie’s Syrian memoir of the archaeological trips she made to the ancient ruins of Syria and Iraq, many of which are now under threat from Islamic State fighters, is due to be republished this August. It includes lots of photographs taken by Agatha Christie documenting her travels.
The writing team used Agatha Christie’s “Come Tell me How You Live” (1999 edition) and her husband Max’s “Mallowan’s Memoirs” (2010 edition) to write the pages on Culture and Religion. Some of their archaeological digs were within 10kms of the village. Fortunately, no monuments were found, important Assyrian artifacts were.
